The weather at Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts was bad this year.

The bad weather led to poor turnout and less money for the festival.

Thursday night, October 25, Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts will hold a fundraiser to help make up for this year's losses.

Thursday night's fundraiser starts at 7:00pm at Grand Rapids Ballet Company's Wege Theatre.  Tickets are $35 at the door.

Local musician Drew Nelson will perform.  Food and drink will be provided by Tommy Fitzgerald.

Enjoying good food and music is the perfect way to raise money for an event that celebrates the same in Grand Rapids.

Mlive.com has sales info from 2012's Festival of the Arts:

Sales from Festival’s 30 food booths fell 34 percent from $437,400 at Festival 2011 to $288,900 this year. Art Sales were off a more modest 2 percent from $81,000 last year to $79,400 at Festival 2012.

The two are Festival of Arts’ biggest sales categories, and the non-profit organization’s biggest, single source of revenue.

Festival of Arts receives 18 percent of all booth sales and art tent sales.

Sales from the Festival Store fell a little more than 20 percent from $16,950 in 2011 to $13,500 this year.
