Grand Rapids couple Whitney Black and Steven Phillips made history Saturday when they got married during the Detroit Marathon, according to WZZM 13.

The two were part of the close to 26,000 people who decided to run the full marathon, but halfway through, they stopped and got married.

Whitney even donned a veil and Steven was wearing a tuxedo t-shirt for the impromptu ceremony that was also attended by at least two TV stations, as you can see in the video from WZZM 13.

After they were announced husband and wife, they did a cool hand thing, took a quick shot and answered a few questions, then took off to complete the 26.2-mile marathon.

They crossed the finish line together in 4 hours and 47 minutes, reports WZZM 13.  So their ceremony didn’t take too long at all.
