It's been quite a month or so, publicity wise, for Grand Rapids.  Forbes magazine says Grand Rapids and West Michigan is the country's best place to raise a family.  Readers and parents have said they like the "big city amenities with the small town charm.

Another publication rated Grand Rapids as one of the top 10 cities in America to find a job.  And, now, another publication is naming Grand Rapids a great place to retire.  No fooling!

The magazine, "Where to Retire,"  features Grand Rapids in their May/June publication, as a top retirement destination.  Specifically, the magazine is profiling '8 Dynamic Heartland Havens,' Grand Rapids, Ames, Iowa; Bellevue, Nebraska; Bloomington, Ind.; Branson, Mo.; Lawrence, Kan.; Madison, Wis.; and Woodstock, Ill.

Why you ask?  The magazine says “Boomers are finding the Heartland of America to be friendly and inviting, where residents are patriotic and volunteers are passionate.  Each of these eight cities, including Grand Rapids, offers the Midwest charm with the addition of, or close proximity to, big-city entertainment, shopping and dining.”

I guess we've been taking for granted what we have here, way to long.

Celebrate!  We really are a COOL CITY!
