Flu season continues to drag on across West Michigan.

If more people stayed home from work when sick, fewer people would catch the flu or a cold.

Is going to work while sick inconsiderate, appreciated, or unavoidable?

There are many different work situations and many levels of sickness, so it's not really a one-size-fits-all question.  I've seen a little bit of all three.

Should the health of coworkers be a concern to a sick employee?  Or is it OK for the primary consideration to be getting the job done and earning a paycheck, even when sick.

Employees who do not have paid sick time can be put in a particularly difficult position when they would like to stay home.  Employees who face pressure to come in, no matter how sick they are, are in a tough spot too.
