Get Inspired at the Remodeling and New Homes Show This Weekend at DeVos Place

The holidays are over, and a New Year is upon us -- it is the perfect time to get inspired and make your home even more beautiful and comfortable, and the Grand Rapids Remodeling and New Homes Show at DeVos Place this weekend, January 8th - 10th is the perfect place to find your inspiration!

A lot of us entertained over the holidays, and that can make us look around our homes a little more critically, and see things we normally overlook. This show is all about helping you figure out the best way to approach those things.

You'll find inspiration from the moment you enter the exhibit halls, where the first area you'll encounter is hosted by the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids. Representatives are on-hand throughout the show to sit down and consult with homeowners, giving them unbiased advice about how to best approach their projects, what to look for in hiring a contractor, offer design ideas, and more. Patrons can also stop in this area after they've toured the show for expert answers to all their questions.

At the center of the over 200 exhibitors stands the show's Idea House, comprising seven complete rooms, each designed and furnished by a local company, to provide visitors with the ultimate in visual inspiration.

The show's Seminar Stages are also bursting with inspiration -- they're the places to find fantastic ideas for design, amazing new products for the home, even expert instruction for DIY-ers.

The Build It Stage is headlined by author and product specialist Boyce Thompson, who shows off his Top Ten Life-Changing Products for Your Home. From paint that actually cleans the air to countertops that recharge electronic devices to doorbells that can show you who's on your porch even when you're away from home. Other seminars include Design and Build your Dream Kitchen; Repairing Wood Windows Instead of Replacing; Renovation Loans Made Easy, and many more.

The Design It Stage welcomes HGTV regular Tylor Devereaux, who will lead the audience on a design journey as he transforms a room right on stage.

Also on the Design It Stage throughout the show is local favorite Leslie Hart Davidson, offering her fresh and often irreverent take on interior design during Remodeling Your House Without Killing Your Spouse; Thing/Not a Thing – The Best and Worst of Today’s Design Trends; and Stop Pinning and Start Doing!

Those looking for hands-on instruction will want to check out the DIY Homowner's Workshop Series, hosted by Godwin Plumbing and Home Repair Services. This is where you can learn valuable skills in such seminars as How to Install Ceramic, Glass and Stone Tile; Basic Plumbing Installation & Repair; and Drywall & Plaster Repair.
