As West Michigan's economy continues to grow, so does the number of passengers at Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids. July was the busiest month the airport has ever had.

Gerald R. Ford International Airport says July passenger numbers were up 1.69 percent year-over-year, breaking the all-time monthly record from July 2015.

July 2015 saw 234,282 total passengers. In July 2016, 238,237 total passengers traveled through the airport. 119,268 were outgoing passengers and 118,969 were incoming passengers.

The airport is now 3.24 percent ahead of passenger totals from 2015, leaving it on pace to break its annual passenger total. Through July 2016, 1,537,465 passengers have flown into or out of Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
