The NFL draft ended last week.

Once the draft was over, teams began signing players who were not taken in the draft.

The Detroit Lions have signed 11 undrafted rookie free agents, including former Western Michigan University quarterback Alex Carder.

Carder finished his career at Western Michigan University with 74 touchdowns, 36 interceptions, and nearly 9,000 yards in just 38 games.  A very successful college football career.

Signing with a team does not guarantee you will make the team, it's still a long shot for most players...but a great opportunity.

Freep.com reports at least one undrafted rookie free agent has made the Detroit Lions in each of the last three seasons.
