Former President Jimmy Carter will be speaking in Grand Rapids at a lecture and book signing Monday night.

The 39th president and his wife, Rosalynn, will be part of Grand Rapids Community College’s Diversity Lecture Series. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the series and the college’s 100th anniversary.

The 89-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner will lecture for about 45 minutes before a question-and-answer session starting at 5 p.m. at the Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse.

He has written 28 books, including “A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence and Power,” which was released in March.

Tickets to the lecture and book signing are sold out.
