As former Acting Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, David R. Shedd led a workforce of more than 16,500 military and civilian employees worldwide. This agency's primary mission is to provide military intelligence to our military leaders and defense policymakers in the U.S. Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.

David R. Shedd will be speaking here in Grand Rapids, next Tuesday, April 28, at Aquinas College in the Donnelly Center, Upper Level (Building located off Woodward Ave. between Robinson and Fulton. Look for signs!)

There will be a reception from 5:15pm - 6:00pm, with Shedd speaking from 6:00pm - 7:00pm.

Mr. Shedd has also held intelligence policy positions at the National Security Council. He was directly involved in the implementation of intelligence reform stemming from the 9/11 Commission report in July 2004, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, and the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Commission's report to the President in March 2005.

Earlier in his more than 35-year career in the service of our country, he was posted overseas in the U.S. Embassies in Costa Rica and Mexico as well as holding a variety of senior management assignments at the Central Intelligence Agency, including Chief of Congressional Liaison.
