say the economic climate is the reason they have neglected making repairs on their vehicles over the past year. Over half are still behind the wheels of older cars to avoid making payments on new models. The survey also shows many motorists would come up short when it comes to money to pay for auto repairs. Triple-A finds one in four Americans wouldn't be able to afford a two-thousand-dollar repair bill, while a thousand-dollars would be too much for one in every eight drivers. The automotive group strongly recommends regular car maintenance and that drivers have an emergency financial plan ready for an unexpected repair bill.
