Sometimes it's sad leaving your four-legged best friend at home when you head out for a good time.

This Sunday, March 22, your dog can join you at the Grand Rapids Griffins home hockey game!

It's the American Hockey League club's inaugural Dog Day at Van Andel Arena!

According to WZZM-13, owners are welcome to bring their dog to the 4 p.m. game against the Adirondack Flames with the purchase of both a human ticket for $15 and a dog ticket for $5.

Dog ticket proceeds benefit Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary in Lake Odessa.

Two upper deck sections will be reserved for hockey fans bringing dogs.

As part of the dog-friendly day, winners of America’s Got Talent, the Olate Dogs will perform during the first intermission. A fast-paced dog act full of a variety of circus tricks, the Olate Dogs will dance, flip, slide and jump to music.

And every Sunday is Fun Day with the Griffins, which means $1 Pepsi drinks and $1 ice cream from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
