A female Ferris State University student was walking on campus Tuesday night around 7 p.m. when she was grabbed by an unknown man.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s. He was wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants. He is approximately 6-foot to 6-foot-2-inches tall.

The man grabbed the arm of the female student and refused to let go. Luckily, several other people were in the area and told him to let the her go, which he finally did. The woman was not harmed and is safe.

The Ferris State University Department of Public Safety has asked that any person with information regarding this assault call DPS dispatch at (231) 591-5000. The university is reminding students that if they are on campus at night, they can request an escort by DPS student foot patrollers, if available.
