Feeding American West Michigan Food Bank need you!  They are in need of volunteers to help distribute food.

Without volunteers food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters cannot get food, and more than 1,200 agencies receive food from Feeding American West Michigan.

Our news partner, WZZM TV13 reports over 316,000 people are food insecure in West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Feeding America West Michigan has seen a 9.5% increase in the amount of food they have distributed over the last year.

Donations have also increased, but with more donations, the organization needs more volunteers to handle the distribution of the food. They are asking for people to sign up to help out the 100,000 families that rely on food from the organization.

Because of the lack of volunteers, Feeding America West Michigan is now open on Saturdays for food reclamation in order to try to get that food to people who need it.
