The Food Drive is ON!

Mel Trotter Ministries is collecting non-perishable foods for its annual Brown Bag Food Drive this fall, and it begins today. The goal is to collect 35,000 pounds of food items that will be used for more than 1,000 Thanksgiving and Christmas meal boxes for Grand Rapids area individuals and families in need. Food collected will also supplement Mel Trotter’s community food pantry.

Mel Trotter Ministries, the Grand Rapids Press, BIGGBY COFFEE and Chemical Bank are partnering to promote the annual Brown Bag Food Drive. They are hoping you will donate food to support the drive. Businesses and organizations are welcome to host a food drive at their company as well. More information can be found at www.meltrotter.org

If you get the Grand Rapids Press, you found a brown bag inside the Press the week of October 15, with information about collecting and donating food. Look for the blue barrels at Mel Trotter Ministries (225 Commerce SW), any of its three retail stores, as well as participating BIGGBY COFFEE or Chemical Bank locations in the greater Grand Rapids area.

The food Drive begins today, Thursday, October 22 and runs through Thursday, December 3, 2015.

A complete list of food items needed and locations for the drive is available at:
