This Labor Day Weekend, if you’re a teacher and need some inspiration for the new school year or just want to get out of the house, go to the zoo!! It’s free for you this weekend.

John Ball Zoo announced today that all Labor Day Weekend, they are opening the zoo to teachers free of charge!  (Yes, it's still open to everyone else as well, you just have to pay.)

As their press release reads:

Teachers provide so much to students—inspiration, motivation and, ultimately, their futures. The John Ball Zoo would like to show their thanks and gratitude by treating teachers to free admission Labor Day weekend, September 1 – 3.

You just have to show your school ID to take advantage of the free admission.  The John Ball Zoo is open all weekend 9 am to 6 pm. Get more info on the zoo, here.

Heads up if you want to use the Funicular, which I just found out earlier this week was a thing you can ride at the zoo... and then noticed that it's broken for the next few weeks.

Please note that the funicular will be down for the next few weeks. It currently requires a few safety updates, and while we understand the frustration of not having it available, guest safety is our number one priority. We will update everyone when it is back up and running.
