It's been a cold winter in West Michigan and a good season to spend a little extra time inside.

Next time you're warming up enjoy the company of a new furry friend.

Meet Stewart from Crash's Landing.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is "Purrrfect Friday," where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home. This week we're spotlighting Stewart.

Crash's Landing first heard about Stewart in February of 2011.

Stewart was in terrible shape. He was filthy, starving, had a bite wound, had a respiratory infection, and tested FIV postive.

Crash's Landing wasted no time coming to Stewart's aid. They cleaned him, fed him (he gained 2 pounds in 2 days), and slowly nursed him back to health.

Stewart is friendly cat, and if any cat deserves another chance and a loving family, it's him.
