Parklets are in Grand Rapids.

If you're wondering what a parklet is, you are not the only one.

A parklet is a small space that extends from the sidewalk into the street. The parklet creates a patio which allows people to use space which was previously part of the road.

Does Grand Rapids need more parklets?

The parklets are outside of Grand Rapids Brewing Company (Ionia south of Fulton), Stella's Lounge (Commerce north of Oakes), and McFadden's Saloon (Ionia north of Oakes).

They're hard to miss.

Having more options for outdoor seating is good, but is the seating parklets provide too close to traffic?

I think parklets can be a nice fit in areas without heavy traffic. I'm not sure I'd like to sit in a parklet next to a busy intersection though.
