December 22nd, The First Day Of Winter

Here's a bit of trivia for the first day of Winter.

It's December 22nd, and just 3 days 'till Christmas, by-the-way.

Today is an interesting day.

It's Capricorn Day, the beginning for all born under the astrology sign Capricorn.  You all are said to be practical, disciplined, methodical, organized, cautious, and careful.

It's the anniversary, 53 years ago in 1958, of The Chipmunks (Alvin, Simon, and Theodore) #1 hit "The Chipmunk Song."

And, it was 111 years ago, in 1900, the first car was produced under the "Mercedes" name.  It had an interesting beginning.   Its buyer was Austrian auto racer Emil Jellinek.  The Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft car company, was so anxious for him to buy this new-model car of theirs that they agreed he could name it.  He did...after his 11-year-old daughter...Mercedes!
