West Michigan is full of amazing and generous people.  The people at Crash's Landing come to mind.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped over 2,500 cats, but there is still work to be done.

Crash's Landing looks for safe, loving, permanent homes for all of their animals.

Can you help Crash's Landing reach their goal?

Every Friday is Purrrfect Friday on 100.5 The River.  We feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.  This week we're spotlighting Rowland.

Rowland was born on October 2009.  When he was found he was hungry and had both eye and ear problems.  Crash's Landing took him in and treated him, just like they do so often.

How did he get his name?  It's a bit complicated.  Rowland is a tiger cat with an eye injury.  This made Dr. Jen think of the band Survivor who sang "Eye of the Tiger".  Kelly Rowland was in Destiny's Child and sang a song called "Survivor".  Dr. Jen didn't like the name Survivor, so she went with Rowland.  Funny what's behind a name sometimes isn't it?

Rowland is a bit mischievous...which is another way of saying A LOT of fun!  He would make a great addition to your family!

In addition to adopting a cat, you can also help Crash's Landing by becoming a volunteer.

No matter how busy your schedule, there is a volunteer opportunity for you.  Volunteer shifts are completely flexible.  Most shifts are 2 to 4 hours and volunteers can work once a week, once a month, or whatever works for you.
