Circle Theatre Keep Summer Rolling With “The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps & Gowns”

Circle Theatre continues the 2013 season in July with the jukebox musical comedy THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES: CAPS & GOWNS, running July 11 through 27.

Circle Theatre takes you to 1958, where it’s time for The Marvelous Wonderettes to graduate in this long-awaited sequel to the smash off-Broadway hit created by Roger Bean! Join Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy as they sing about their final year in high school, celebrate with their fellow classmates and teachers, and prepare for their next step toward a bright future. Act Two zooms ahead to 1968, where the girls perform as bride and bridesmaids to celebrate Missy’s marriage to Mr. Lee! Featuring "Rock Around the Clock," "At the Hop," "Dancing in the Street," "River Deep, Mountain High," and 25 more hits.

The Circle Theatre production of THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES: CAPS & GOWNS will be directed by Jolene Frankey and Rob Karel. Joining Frankey and Karel is music director Vanessa A. Allen. Frankey also serves as choreographer.

The cast for The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps & Gowns features Nubia Gomez as Suzy, Arianna Helgesen as Missy, Alicia Rosario as Betty Jean and Carly Uthoff as Cindy Lou.

Performances will be held at the Aquinas College Performing Arts Center. Performances are July 11 through 27. Curtain for performance are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30PM. Sunday performances begin at 5:00PM. Tickets are $27 and can be purchased by calling the Circle Theatre box office at 616.456.6656 or on line at www.circletheatre.org. The box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5:00PM on non-performance days and from noon to curtain Monday through Friday and 3:00PM to curtain Saturday and Sunday on days of performances.
