Circle Theatre Celebrates the Music of James Taylor and Legendary Women of Rock

Circle Theatre, known for their wonderful plays and musicals during the spring and summer season, produces an annual concert series that features many of the area’s best vocalists and musicians. Live music in an intimate setting gives all audience members an up-close and personal experience unique only to Circle Theatre.

Coming up this month of May, 2015, are the concerts SHED A LITTLE LIGHT: THE MUSIC OF JAMES TAYLOR, running tonight, May 11, July 13 & 14, September 7 & 8 and LEATHER & LACE: THE WOMEN OF ROCK, running May 18, and July 20 & 21.

The Circle Theatre concert Shed A Little Light: The Music of James Taylor will be directed by Kelly Carey. Leather & Lace: The Women of Rock will be directed by Kelly Carey and Danielle Cosby. Carey’s previous directorial credits at Circle Theatre include concert hits like Pianomen, Hits of the 80’s, Keep The Change, Moonshine Serenade, Singer/Songwriters of the 70’s, Take It To The Limit and Timeless.

The design team features lighting designer Catherine Marlett Dreher, and sound designer Timothy K. Schmidt.

The cast of Shed A Little Light features vocalists Kelly Carey, Danielle Cosby and Larry Young accompanied by Nick Ayoub on keyboard, Patrick Handlin on bass guitar, Chris Bookie on drums and Matt Young on guitar.

The cast of Leather & Lace features vocalists Laine Allen, Kelly Carey, Danielle Cosby, Noddea Moore-Skidmore and Sarah Suydam accompanied by the band Brena featuring Craig Avery on keyboard and key tar; Sam Briggs on drums; Steffan Copenhaver on bass/acoustic guitar, violin and trumpet; Sam Parks on electric/acoustic guitar and Dan VanLente on bass guitar.

Performances are at the Aquinas College Performing Arts Center. Curtain for concert performances is at 7:00PM. The box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5:00PM and from noon to curtain on days of performances.
