If you own a Jeep, you'll want to read on...

Chrysler has recalled 1,700 Jeeps because of a fire hazard caused by faulty gas tank valves.  Apparently the valves were damaged when the maker tested them for leaks.  The NHTSA says the valves may leak gasoline if the vehicles are in a crash.

The recall will start in June and dealers will replace the fuel tanks free of charge.

The vehicles affected include some 2012 Jeep Compass and Patriot SUV's.  If you're an owner, call (800) 853-1403 with your questions.
