With a cluck, cluck here and a cluck, cluck there; Grand Rapids now owns the world's record for the most number of rubber chickens tossed at one time. 925 rubber chickens went flying in the air Thursday night at Rosa Parks Circle at the special event to launch Laughfest for Gilda's Club. Event officials said Thursday night they broke the previous Guinness Book of World Record of 265, set outside of Boston in April 2010.

Laughfest continues at various venues downtown until March 20. The even is a seriously funny fundraiser for Gilda's Club, named in honor of Comedianne Gilda Radner, who died of cancer in 1989.

"It would make (Gilda) happy because she loved making people smile (and) making people laugh," said Michael Radner, her brother. "And that's what LaughFest is doing."
