Andy Rent is on the vacation of a lifetime in Ireland with a bunch of 100.5 The River's loyal listeners and they've been having a great time! Check out some photos from the first few days of their trip.

The folks from YMT Vacations really put together a fun trip with their Best of Ireland Tour.

Day one brought the group into Ireland, and then they were off to explore where they make Guinness! What a place. It has become one of the top tourist attractions in Ireland. What a difference when the Guinness is that fresh, made even better when you have it on top of the brewery in their Gravity Bar. There you get a 360 degree view of Dublin.

Day two took the group to Dublin and it was a city tour. Dublin is a very compact city and easy to see. Stopped at a sculpture tribute to the suffering during the famine. Then on to St. Patrick's Cathedral. On to Trinity College to see The Book of Kells, the 9th century version of the gospels. Then up to the "Long Room." The library takes your breath away. Finished the first half of the day at a great little pub and some bangers and mash, with Andy's friends the Masselinks.

The Ireland adventure continued as the group left Dublin to explore the countryside. They headed to the Rock of Cashel, a cluster of historic ruins dating back to the 4th century. After a lunch with some tour mates, the Raschs and Brechtings, Andy and the crew headed to Waterford and the crystal factory. They watched amazing craftsmen as they blew the glass, shaped it, and cut it into a fine piece of crystal. They create not only glassware and the like, but big time awards, Super Bowl, NBA Championship, major golf tournaments, and our own Meijer LPGA Classic. What a surprise to find the award there.

The next day was a wonderful Irish day with beautiful weather. The highlight was Blarney Castle. Yes, they climbed the 125 steps to kiss the Blarney Stone... and then, they totally kissed the Blarney Stone. After a little shopping in the shops, they bought some Waterford crystal and can't wait for it to arrive home. They continued on to Killarney and took a wonderful carriage ride through the national park, closing out the day with dinner and some Irish music. There may have been a pint or two involved.

There are still several more days of fun to go before Andy's Ireland Adventure wraps up. Be sure to keep checking back for more photos of the fun.
