Music and fun ~ Celebration on the Grand

The kids are back in school, it's getting darker earlier and all of us are trying to squeeze just a little more "summer" out of each evening.  We'll squeeze summer out of another "festival weekend" in West Michigan with a bang, with music, with food, with drink.

It's Celebration On the Grand today and tomorrow in downtown Grand Rapids!

Friday night there will be live music from Serita’s Black Rose, Tetrad, the James Shaneberger Band and the Jimmie Stagger Band at Rosa Parks Circle.  At Ah-Nab-Awen, bands like An Dro, The Outer Vibe, The Lazy Blue Tunas and Mid Life Crisis will play.

Saturday afternoon and evening at Rosa Parks Circle, rock out to 13th Hour, Troll For Trout, Splice, FLEDfive, The Cones and The Mines. The music starts at 3:30.

Starting at NOON on Saturday at Ah-Nab-Awen, it's FAMILY DAY!  Check out 61Syx Teknique Street Dance Academy, "Live. Dance. Move – Zumba," the Bangarang Circus, the Ducky Dash Down the Grand River, the Flying Tigers and a bunch more.

You'll probably want to pull up a piece of grass and stake out a place for MOVIES IN THE PARK, too!  They'll be showing "Despicable Me" on the inflatable screen around 8:30pm.  (And if you've never done "Movies In the Park" before, it's pretty cool.  You and 2500 of your closest friends all in Ah-Nab-Awen watching movies, eating food and having fun.)

Both Rosa Parks Circle AND Ah-Nab-Awen will have food, too, from CitySen, XO, Angel's Thai, Vito's Pizza, GR Hot Dog Company, Cottage Bar, Mike Concessions and others.

See you in downtown GR for fun this weekend!
