A roller coaster at Sandusky, Ohio's Cedar Point amusement park hit and killed a guest Thursday, according to a park spokesman.

The man, has been identified as 45-year-old James A. Young, of East Canton, Ohio, and officials say he was looking for a lost cell phone in a fenced-off, off limits area of the park when the coaster hit him.

No other park guests were injured in the incident.

Cedar Point and the Sandusky Police Department are still investigating the situation.

Cedar Point released the following statement this evening:

At approximately 5 p.m., a guest entered a restricted, fenced area of the Raptor roller coaster and was struck by the ride. Park safety officials responded immediately to the situation. Unfortunately the guest has passed away. Local authorities are on the scene conducting an investigation.

 Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time.

The Raptor is an inverted roller coaster and reaches a maximum speed of 57 mph, according to Cedar Point's website.
