The Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids is hosting an Interfaith Day of Prayer for Peace to unite the community in a time of racial and political division. The Grand Rapids celebration is part of a national Day of Prayer called for by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The Day of Prayer will be celebrated across the United States to stress the need to find additional ways of nurturing an open, honest and civil dialogue on issues of race relations, restorative justice, mental health, economic opportunity, and pervasive gun violence.
