Husband Wanted in Allegan County Slaying Seen in Maine

The husband of Sara Lee Knight, the woman whose body was found Jan. 13, is wanted for her alleged slaying and has been spotted in Maine, according to WZZM-13.

Allegan County sheriff's deputies are investigating the case as an apparent homicide.

WGRD Pond Hockey Classic 2015 Rocks Richmond Park January 23-25 in Grand Rapids [Video]

97.9 GRD Rocks will host the fourth annual WGRD Pond Hockey Classic, presented by Labatt Blue and Dematic.

Sinbad, Madigan, Breuer, Willman and Kosta to Perform at LaughFest’s Signature Event

Gilda's Laughfest announced Tuesday that this year’s Signature Event will celebrate the festival’s fifth year with a lineup of returning LaughFest comedians coming together for the first time

LaughFest also announced the remaining acts for the 2015 festival, which will run from March 5 to 15 at venues in Grand Rapids, Lowell and Holland.

The Signature Event will take place on Tuesday, March 10, at DeVos Performance Hall and will be hosted by Michael Kosta, the winner of LaughFest’s 2011 stand-up competition. The event will feature headlining acts from LaughFest’s past years, including Jim Breuer, Kathleen Madigan, Sinbad and Justin Willman.

Kalamazoo Man Sentenced for Beating His Girlfriend With a Puppy

A 51-year-old Kalamazoo man has been sentenced to six months in jail for beating his girlfriend with a two-week-old puppy resulting in the animal's death.

Timothy Tucker was also sentenced to four years of probation and entry into the Swift and Sure Sanctions Program. In addition, he was also ordered to pay fees and restitution.

Michigan Parents Who Refuse to Vaccinate Children Will Now Have to Take Extra Steps

Parents who refuse to get their children vaccinated due to philosophical or religious reasons will now have to take more steps spelled out in a  new policy by the Michigan Department of Community Health.

As of Jan. 1, parents will have to have their vaccination waivers certified by their local health department, WZZM-13 reported.
