RECALL – GRACO Recalls Infant Car Seats

 

Graco Children’s Products is recalling 1.9 million infant car seats after agreeing to government demands.

The recall comes after five months of arguing between Graco and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Earlier this year the company recalled 4.2 million toddler seats for a harness buckle problem at the request o the agency, but it resisted the the demand to recall the infant seats.

FDA Issues Warnings About Medicines Used For Teething Infants

Important info for parents of infants and toddlers, the FDA is warning that prescription oral viscous lidocaine 2 percent solution should NOT be used to treat infants and children with teething pain.

The FDA is now requiring what they call a "Boxed Warning", their strongest warning, to be added to the drug label to highlight this information.  Oral viscous lidocaine solution can cause serious harm, including death.
