Aye, Matey, the Pirates are in Grand Haven

Loutit District Library (LDL) and Harbor Island is the port of swashbuckling, piratical fun for the whole family as the 7th Annual Michigan Pirate Festival invades Grand Haven, through Sunday, August 11th.

With their theme, "Pirates through the Ages," pirate re-enactors from historical to fantasy personas come from around Michigan and the Mid West to entertain everyone from young powder monkeys to seasoned buccaneers. New to this year's festival is the Mermaid Queen with a group of her mermaids. This is the first performance for the mermaid group in Michigan.

The Newest Royal has no Name…..Yet (video)

Though England's future king has left the hospital, he still doesn't have a name.

We got our first glimpse of William and Kate's newborn son yesterday, on the steps of St. Mary's hospital in London. But the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge didn't reveal his name. Wills told reporters gathered outside the hospital, "We are still working on a name, so we will have that as soon as we can."

They Paddled 80 Miles Across Lake Michigan for Children in Uganda

The three paddle boarder have accomplished and incredible feat. They finished an 80 mile journey across Lake Michigan, arriving safely in Norton Shores today.

Twenty-three year-old Craig Masselink, his 19-year-old brother Trent and their friend 21-year-old Ginny Melby left McKinley Beach in Milwaukee, on Sunday morning and finished their trek in just under 24 hours.
