Looking for a Job? Construction May be Your Answer and Today is the Day

As West Michigan continues to see an uptick in the demand for new homes and commercial construction projects, the shortage of skilled labor has become more prevalent. Because of the need for tradesmen and women in the construction industry, the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids (HBAGGR) has teamed up with the Construction Workforce Development Alliance of West Michigan and Michigan Works! to host its inaugural Construction Career Fair (CCF). The career fair will take place today, Thursday, June 25, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Michigan Works! (215 Straight Ave. NW, Grand Rapids).

Spectrum Health is holding a ceremonial groundbreaking event today, Tuesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at its Rehab and Nursing Center at 4118 Kalamazoo Avenue in Grand Rapids. The facility, which was originally built in 1964, is being expanded and renovated to better serve patients.

12th Annual Beach Survival Challenge Happening This Weekend At Grand Haven State Park

The popular Beach Survival Challenge event is coming back to the Grand Haven State Park tomorrow, Saturday, June 20. The event was started 12 years ago in honor of Andy Fox who lost his life in a rip current. A Happier Home for Cats Opening at Humane Society

Humane Society of West Michigan (HSWM) will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 11, to dedicate the Cattery Expansion Project and the BISSELL Cattery Enrichment Center on Thursday, June 11th at 11 am. This ceremony is to thank Mark & Cathy Bissell and all of the generous donors who helped make the project a success. With the amazing support of donors, they were able to add two more cattery living spaces built in the HSWM lobby, a window placed in cat holding, and larger cages for cats in the medical room.
