A really cool and exciting event is back at The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA).Its their 15th annual Live Coverage event presented by Wolverine Worldwide, on March 11, 2016, from 7 – 11 pm, at the Michigan art center’s spacious galleries at 2 Fulton West in Grand Rapids.

Anila Quayyum Agha’s "Intersections" won the Public Vote and was co-winner of the Juried Grand Prize at ArtPrize 2014. The popular entry is heading to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Mass., just north of Boston. "Intersections" was also recently featured by National Geographic.

The Detroit News reports that artist Katherine Craig is suing building owner, Princeton Enterprises, to ensure that her 100-by-125-foot mural is protected at 2937 East Grand in Detroit. Princeton Enterprises is considering redeveloping the property on which Craig created The Illuminated Mural in 2009.

The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA) will present Coming Home: Jerry Gretzinger opening this Saturday, November 21, 2015 – February 28, 2016. The centerpiece of the exhibition, Jerry’s Map, is a massive map created with a variety of mediums and dictated by an elaborate set of rules and randomly generated instructions created by Gretzinger himself.
