2013 Emmy Nominations Announced

The 2013 Emmy nominations were announced this morning, and it’s a lot of what you expected: Tina Fey and Claire Danes killing it for ’30 Rock’ and ‘Homeland,’ a bunch of ‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Downton Abbey’ nods and an academy that was, as usual, mad for ‘Mad Men.’

The only real surprises? The nominations for ‘Behind the Candelabra,’ which we all just figured was nominated ironically. Also, where was ‘The Walking Dead?’ Norman Reedus deserves every award in every category. Every. Single. One.

Theater for Children Always Great at Circle Theatre

Circle Theatre continues the 2013 season in June with the children’s Magic Circle production of THE MYSTIC TALE OF ALADDIN, running June 27 through 30. This classic tale, adapted by Randy Wyatt, tells the story of seven maidens and their attendants as they wait in the treasure room of the Sultan to hear which of them will be chosen for his bride. They have been there all day. Night is approaching and still there is no sign of the Sultan. The maidens decide to pass the time by telling the mystic tale of Aladdin. Aladdin's tale comes to life through the maidens and brings with it sorcery, deceit, riches, suspicions, destiny, wishes, and the chance to make dreams come true.
