CASA Is Where The Heart Is.

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates — of Kent County, is the only local volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens to become appointed members of the Kent County court system in order to act on behalf of abused or neglected children as they pass through the family court system. There is such a need for this program with so many children shuffled about, or lost, in the court system.

Being on the Board of Directors, I see first hand the power of a CASA, the trained volunteer, helping better the life of an abused and neglected child.

Financial support comes in many ways. Yes, CASA does get some government funding, but the majority comes from Grants, and donations. Without those donations, the program couldn't exist, and the children would be left without a voice.

That's where the House Party comes in. It is one of our major fundraisers, and will be this  Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., hosted at the beautiful home of Diane St. Claire and Tom Northway on Fisk Lake, 1923 Wealthy St. SE.

It will be an evening offering valet parking, wonderful food, drink and entertainment, and hearing from people who have a personal connection to CASA's mission of providing an advocate for each abused or neglected child in Kent County who needs one.

Tickets are only $75/person, and the dress is Business Casual
