The popular Butterflies Are Blooming exhibit is at Frederik Meijer Gardens, March 1 - April 30.

This year, there is another way to celebrate the return of the butterflies.

The Grand Rapids Ballet Junior Company is performing a Butterfly Ballet!

The ballet, "Who Am I: a Butterfly Ballet for Families", is being performed at Frederik Meijer Gardens at 10:00am on March 2 and March 16.

Tickets are $5 for non-members and $3.50 for members.  It is choreographed by Attila Mosolygo and narrated by Errol Shewman.

Grballet.com describes the ballet:

The story is charming: a butterfly emerges from its chrysalis and wonders what kind of a creature it is. It encounters several other creatures, each one having something in common with a butterfly. Through process of elimination, the butterfly comes to understand what it is and its place in the natural world.

All ages are sure to enjoy the music, costumes, activities, and question/answer session with the dancers!

Register to attend the ballet online at meijergardens.org or call 616-975-3147.
