What a fun night it was tonight at Fredrik Meijer Gardens.  Tuesday, kicked off the beginning of the Butterflies Are Blooming exhibit that will continue through April 30th.  Tonight was a "members only" evening of entertainment, food, drink, fun and Butterflies!  As I walked through the 15,000 square foot Lena Meijer Conservatory, with 6,000 butterflies fluttering about me, I thought to myself, this is a pretty amazing experience.  Since these butterflies enjoy the tropics as their natural environment, the conservatory was warm and humid.  And that kind of got me thinking about Spring, right here in West Michigan.  That is worth a visit in itself.  With gas being predicted to be close to $4.00 by Memorial Day, staying in and around Grand Rapids is sounding pretty good.  Think about a membership to "The Gardens" and you can visit as often as you like!

There was one butterfly I hoped to capture in a photo but she just wouldn't show her colors to my camera, or I just wasn't fast enough.  She was a beautiful shade of electric blue!  This exhibit at "The Gardens" is a must see and the kids will especially enjoy being this close to all of these beautiful creatures.  All of this in an environment where they can fly free!  Thanks to Meijer Gardens for supplying me additional photos taken by the Fredrik Meijer Garden staff where indicated.
