Brick Road Pizza Gives To West Michigan Food Bank

Right now in GR, many local restaurants are courting customers with special menu items and an opportunity to enjoy places you might not otherwise try.

But this week, Brick Road Pizza in the Wealthy Street Business District, is going another route. Co-owner Cindy Talbert decided to feed the hungry.  On Wednesday from 5-9pm, Brick Road Pizza will donate 15 percent of its sales to Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank.

The donation is part of the Food Bank’s Million Meal March campaign, a multi-tiered effort to send a million meals to struggling families throughout West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

By the latest count, one in six people in Feeding America West Michigan’s region was food-insecure, meaning they are unsure of their ability to acquire enough food to meet their nutritional needs. In Kent County alone, nearly 85,000 people are food-insecure, and 32,000 of them are under 18.
