Rockford High School was put on "shelter-in-place" for a short time Tuesday afternoon due to a bomb threat.

Superintendent Mike Shibler told the folks at WZZM-13 that the school received a call shortly before noon saying there was a bomb in the building. The caller then hung up.

The school went into "shelter-in-place" which means that the students were kept in their classrooms and were not allowed in the hallways. The Rockford Police, Kent County Sheriff's Department and the Michigan State Police searched the building and found nothing of concern.

The "shelter-in-place" was lifted at about 1:30pm. The FBI is investigating the incident.
