Bluegrass the dog is our special pet of the week.

Andy Rent talked about him on his Andy in the Morning show for Wet Nose Wednesday.

Meet Bluegrass, an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. Trudy, from the Humane Society, brought Bluegrass into the studios.

Bluegrass is 2-year old, Staffordshire Terrier. He has very limited eye sight, so he needs a very loving a caring family. He is one of the sweetest dogs we have had in the studio. Bluegrass is very loving and tender, and would make a wonderful addition to the right home.

According to the American Kennel Club, the Staffordshire Terrier is a confident, good-natured and smart dog. They enjoy daily exercise and is adaptable to almost anything you want to do to provide this. Sounds like a good pet to me.

Trudy reminded us that with Easter this weekend, there will probably be a lot of candy around the house, and that's not good for pets. Be watchful and attentive to make sure your pets aren't eating any.

April 29th is the Bissell Pet Foundation "Empty the Shelter" event. On that Saturday, Bissell is covering the adoption fee for all pets adopted across the state.

As always, you can get all the information on the Humane Society website or call (616) 453-8900.
