Black Widow Spiders Found In Grand Rapids Area And West Michigan Backyards

Did you know that the black widow spider is 15 times more toxic than a rattlesnake?  Rarely will you die from a bite but you are advised to seek medical help immediately!  It's weird this year.  After our winter, and beginning this  Spring, I have had some strange insects in my yard and house.  For some reason big black ants are plentiful.  So are those little red creepy crawly things with lots of legs.  I think all the snow and dampness and humidity brought them all to the surface.  And yup, mosquitoes are particularly plentiful this Spring season too!  Here are some tips you need to know if you do get bitten by a "black widow"
