Betsy the dog came calling today.

Yes, Betsy visited with Andy Rent as he talked about her on his Andy in the Morning show for Wet Nose Wednesday. Another Betsy visited just a few weeks ago, but this is a different one. Certainly a popular name.

Trudy, from the Humane Society of West Michigan, brought Betsy  into the studios.

Betsy is a three-year old Beagle-Terrier Mix, that needs a good, loving home. Betsy was surrendered by her owners as they felt they didn't have the time to take care of her. She has been neutered, had all her vaccinations, is micro chipped, and ready to find a new home. Trudy did say the Betsy is heartworm positive and is under treatment. The Humane Society will work with a new owner regarding this.

According to the American Kennel Club, Beagles are excellent hunting dogs and loyal companions, they are also happy-go-lucky, funny, and—thanks to their pleading expression—cute. They were bred to hunt in packs, so they enjoy the company of other dogs and of people as well. Beagles love to follow their noses, which can sometimes get them into sticky situations. These dogs are solid, sturdy, and fairly easy to care for, but they do need to run around and let off steam.

Trudy reminded us to remember all of the loving pets at the Humane Society this holiday season. In your giving this year, they hope you'll remember the Humane Society, who is totally donor and grant funded.

Over Christmas break, the Humane Society would be a good place for your kids to burn off some holiday energy at their Holiday Camps. Check it out, you kids would love it.

You can get all the information on the Humane Society website or call (616) 453-8900.
