I know it's hard to imagine in West Michigan that we would ever forget how to drive in snow, but the statistics show that we do.

According to a post yesterday on the Grand Rapids Police Department Facebook page, car accident calls go up 55 percent the week of the first snowfall. I can vouch for this, because the Google maps traffic page glows red (not good) on the first morning of snow.

Luckily, it looks like most of this snowfall will hit early Saturday morning when the traffic is light, so it may not be too bad. But take the GRPD's advice and slow down, be careful and take your vitamins!
