Earlier today police responded to a shooting near Hope Academy on the 200 block of Brown St. SE. Three people were injured, two being shot in the leg and another in the torso. Police have started a search for two or three suspects in the shooting. The victims have been taken area hospitals and it is being reported that they have not sustained life threatening injuries.

It's only a few days until ArtPrize officially opens all across Grand Rapids, but you can already see the city transforming into a massive art gallery. Installations are cropping up on the Urban Bridge, in The B.O.B. parking lot, near the Gerald R. Ford Museum, and countless other places. Governor Rick Snyder addressed an audience of hundreds Thursday afternoon at the Amway Grand Hotel in downtown Grand Rapids. The group was gathered for the West Michigan Policy Forum, which is made up of local business and community leaders. Governor Snyder spoke on several subjects during a 20 minute speech, including the WMPF's agenda which was voted on earlier that morning.
