Rockford Ice Festival Saturday
Time once again for Rockford's annual Ice Festival. Saturday, January 8 from noon til 4 PM. Cutting Down The Christmas Tree
It's a holiday tradition. There's nothing like it. Cutting down a fresh Christmas tree. The only hard part is selecting the perfect tree when there are so many choices. This year, my wife and I selected our tree at Hart's Christmas tree farm in Rockford. Our children are at college so we consulted with them via pictures on the phone.

West Michigan's American Idol Matt Giraud paid Kim Carson a visit Wednesday. Matt updated us and sang a few songs live including, The Christmas Song and an original song.
Rockford Christmas Parade
Next to Santa Claus, children are the stars of the 67th annual Rockford Christmas Parade. Saturday's event featured many holiday costumed brownie's, girl scouts, cub scouts and boy scouts. Also featured were the Rockford High School Marching Band, the State Champion Girls Lacrosse team and, of course, Santa Claus.
