ArtPrize begins next month! The events leading up to the art competition have begun and that includes volunteer registration.

ArtPrize will also host their Volunteer Kick-Off Party on Thursday, August 10.

ArtPrize opens September 20 and will run through October 8 in Grand Rapids. The event takes over 1,000 volunteers working nearly 4,000 shifts and 12,000 hours each year.

Volunteer opportunities are many.

You're probably familiar with Wayfinders. They are stationed around ArtPrize each year. They serve as ArtPrize tour guides and ambassadors of downtown Grand Rapids. Wayfinders carry guides, welcome visitors, provide directions, answer questions and promote activities.

Education Volunteers assist with family events, activities, school programs and more.

There are many more volunteer opportunities. Some require specialized training which ArtPrize organizers will provide.

All volunteers must take part in a training sessions which start the week after Labor Day with weekday, weekend and evening options.

There is also a number of benefits for volunteers and a chance to earn rewards.
