Now that ArtPrize 2013 is all done, I have to say there were some pieces that didn't make the top 25 and/or top 10 that I really hoped would.

One of my favorite entries were the GIANT QUACKERS, who you saw in front of Grand Rapids Public Museum during your travels downtown. They were so cool.  I thought surely they would be in the top 25.  If there were a "Kids Top 10," I'm confident they would've landed there.

In fact, if I had a yard (condo life) I would've looked at purchasing one or all of them!  (That's something I haven't discussed with my wife, however.)  Maybe I'm just a kid at heart.

Anyway, the "Giant Quackers" were designed by artists David Seitzinger and Gary Cacchione of the Dovetail Gallery in Erie, Pennsylvania.

From their website:

This project was a commissioned work for the 2012 governor’s awards and is now a campus symbol at Mercyhurst University. Recently the family of art ducks was seen by an estimated 100,000 at the Perry 200 Commemorative Parade in Erie, PA.

You can read more about the artists on the ArtPrize website.  And you can enjoy seeing the GIANT QUACKERS in action right here!
