ArtPrize is changing the rules in 2014.

ArtPrize announced changes in prize money and second round voting this morning at the ArtPrize HUB.

For the first time, ArtPrize will award equal money and prizes to public and juried awards.

In addition to the balanced awards, ArtPrize has changed the second round of voting.

The public vote top 10 has been replaced with a top 20 and voters may vote for as many of the top 20 finalists as they would like to.

In the past only one vote was allowed in the second round.

These sound like good changes to me.

The equal money makes sense as ArtPrize continues to evolve and it will be interesting to see how the extra votes in the second round change the outcome.

ArtPrize also announced they will be hosting a special event on April 23 at The HUB.

The event will celebrate 5 years since ArtPrize was introduced to the public. The celebration will include the debut of the 2014 ArtPrize poster and a commemorative book.
