ArtPrize 2014, Grand Rapids' sixth annual public art extravaganza, wraps up today.

So, head to downtown Grand Rapids to check out the winners and revisit your favorites before ArtPrize closes at 6 p.m.

Today (Sunday, Oct. 12) is the 19th and last day of ArtPrize.

This is the last opportunity to see the 1,536 entries by 1,825 artists at 174 venues in downtown Grand Rapids and Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.

That includes Indianapolis artist Anila Quayyum Agha's Grand Rapids Art Museum installation titled "Intersections." It won the $200,000 public vote grand prize, shared the $200,000 juried selection grand prize and also won $20,000 in category honors.

It also includes Richmond, Va., artist Sonya Clark's two-dimensional "The Hair Craft Project" on exhibit at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University's Federal Building. It shared the juried selection grand prize.

According to ArtPrize, there were 398,714 votes cast by 41,109 registered voters over the 16 days from Sept. 24 through Thursday night.

Today's Big Event

There's one more kissing contest at the installation titled "Love ArtPrize" in front of Van Andel Arena, 130 W. Fulton St., at the installation titled "Love ArtPrize."

The 10-foot high, 18-foot wide three-dimensional metal, glass and LED-lit installation by Kiaralinda, of Safety Harbor, Fla., has already been the site of two kissing contests during ArtPrize. In the first week, 28 couples took part with the winning couple lasting 2 hours, 3 minutes. Last week, nine couples took part with the winning couple lasting 1 hour, 13 minutes.

There are prizes for best style and longest relationship in addition to the longest kiss.

Today's Thing To Do

On Sundays during ArtPrize, Monroe Community Church, 800 Monroe Avenue NW, has been hosting a Meet the Artist sermon series during its Sunday services in the Christian Reformed Church faith.

Fine art photographer Ruth Foote's eight 24-by-80-inch panel piece titled "Sacred Spaces" was made with a pinhole camera. The program coordinator for Perrysburg, Ohio-based Owens Community College's commercial photography is on hand for the sermon during the church's service, which runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
