Art Prize Rule Change In 2012 Prohibits Top 10 Return
When it comes to Art Prize, organizers believe variety is a good thing. Starting in 2012, Artists who finish in the top 10 will be prohibited from returning to the competition the following year.
The rule change was based on feedback from artists who said finalists from the previous year enter the event with significant advantage.
Organizers said they hope it “adds an exciting and surprising experience for visitors year after year.”
Artist registration opens today for the third annual Art Prize, which open September 21. Organizers waited until 2012 for the new rule to take effect because they did want to stop those who may have been already working on projects for this year. Venue registration ended last week. So far 180 venues have been approved for the exhibition and there are 19 still in the mix. Art Prize is the most influential art discussion on the planet because its truly a people exhibit!
