Anyone addicted to Chipotle's guac, chips, burritos, and bowls could be getting some bad news...

According to Business Insider, Chipotle announced Wednesday they are closing up to 65 locations nationwide, half of which will close in the next month.

After a series of food safety issues in 2015, Chipotle saw its stock drop. A new Chief Executive Officer Brian Niccol, former Taco Bell CEO, was brought on board in February, 2018.

Thrillist reports that In addition to the closures, Chipotle announced plans for a happy hour promotion that will include $2 tacos and alcoholic drinks. They're also working on "in-app" delivery and a loyalty program they'll start testing out before the end of the year.

At this point, we don't know all of the locations that are closing, but Chipotle did say that the closures will include five of its Pizzeria Locale restaurants, Chipotle's fast-casual pizza chain.

Will any West Michigan Chipotles be axed? We'll have to wait and see...

Currently there are Chipotle locations in Grand Rapids, Kentwood, Grandville, Holland, Kalamazoo, Portage, Lansing, and Mt. Pleasant.
